Oxford Essentials: an introduction to teaching and learning at Oxford

Oxford Essentials is an annual one-day induction event for newly-appointed academic staff, taking place before the beginning of Michaelmas Term on Tuesday 26th September 2017 at the Medical Sciences Teaching Centre, South Parks Road, Oxford.

The aims of the day are

  • To welcome you formally to the University;
  • To introduce the workings of the University to those of you who are new to Oxford and/or to the UK, and to provide essential, need-to-know information; 
  • To provide you with networking opportunities and to signpost important resources and sources of support.

The programme starts with a formal welcome to the University by the Vice-Chancellor, followed by presentations and workshops that highlight key information on different aspects of teaching and learning at Oxford.
