Strategic leadership at Oxford
This programme provides individual support to the most senior leaders and managers, such as Heads of Division, Pro-Vice-Chancellors and senior administrators. It begins with a one-to-one discussion with Jonathan Wyatt, Head of Professional Development, to discuss the individual’s approach to his or her role and career plans. Following that, one-to-one coaching, participation in top-level external programmes, and tuition on specific topics can be arranged as desired.
Please contact Jonathan Wyatt to set up a preliminary meeting.
Induction for Heads of Department and Faculty Board Chairs
The Institute has developed a light-touch induction programme for those new to, or soon to take up, the role as Head or Chair. The programme involves a series of workshops and briefings from academic colleagues and senior administrators with experience of working at headship level; and, in addition, there is opportunity to arrange one-to-one support.
Academic leadership development programme
The Academic leadership development programme, run in partnership with departments and the Academic Divisions, aims to give participants an introduction to what is involved in academic leadership. The programme, which is starting with a 'pilot' in January 2013, is open to all academics, but with a preference for places given to staff from groups such as women and members of minority ethnic groups who are currently under-represented at leadership level. This programme complements the leadership mentoring programme for women, Ad Feminam.
