These pages give details of development programmes and links to online resources provided for staff according to their roles. The online resources are in some cases intended to be used by those taking the programmes, but there is much that is useful as a source of reference and guidance for all staff.

The programmes listed here involve sets of workshops and seminars which run at intervals over a term or a year. Each is each designed to cover a range of aspects of a particular type of post or role or otherwise to help a specific group of staff. Some programmes lead to externally accredited qualifications accepted by other universities or employers in business and industry. Gaining such a qualification will entail attending most or all of a programme, but it is often possible as an alternative to book a single session to suit individual needs.

For the convenience of participants, some of this training is provided online. However, the Institute sees it as important to maintain sessions where participants meet each other and can exchange experiences and ideas.
