Programmes and resources
This section gives give details of development programmes which typically consist of a series of workshops and seminars run over one to three terms. The programmes are described here in groups according to their intended audience or purpose. Each group also contains links to related online resources. These include a range of material that should be useful to anyone using this site, though there is some content that is intended specifically for those taking the programmes.
Some programmes lead to externally accredited qualifications accepted by other universities or employers in business and industry. Gaining such a qualification will entail attending most or all of the sessions in the programme, but it is often possible as an alternative to book a single session to suit individual needs.
Managing yourself is a programme suitable for a wide range of staff – especially support staff, staff supervisors and first line managers. It aims to help participants manage both themselves, including time and workload management, and their relationships with colleagues.
Some programmes include elements to be completed online at the participants’ convenience. However, the Institute sees it as important to maintain sessions where participants meet each other and can exchange experiences and ideas.
