Women

The University aims to encourage and support women’s career progression at Oxford, recognising that, as in many other organisations, the proportion of women tends to drop at the more senior levels in each staff group. The Learning Institute supports women's progression by running the Springboard programme and by providing information on external courses designed for women.

The Institute also hosts the Ad Feminam mentoring scheme, intended to encourage women to explore their leadership potential within academic life, or within an administrative career, for example, as leaders of departments and divisions or taking leading roles in university governance.

The Learning Institute are now able to offer courses free of charge to all staff of the collegiate University. Anyone who is employed by the University or one of its colleges is eligible to apply for a place on any of our courses, subject to any entrance requirements for individual courses and programmes. Those who are employed by the NHS, research councils or charities and work alongside university employees or conduct activities for the University will be considered and accommodated for any of our courses where possible.
