Through discussions in mixed groups of supervisors we examine different ways to think about graduate education, consider a range of experiences of graduate supervision, and address how the supervisory relationship might change and develop over its lifetime. Resources available to support supervision at Oxford will be highlighted, along with some relevant matters from the educational literature. Aim Learning objective/outcomes The Oxford Learning Institute has a part of its website dedicated to where a wide range of issues in the supervision of doctoral students at Oxford is addressed. Each page offers Oxford information (e.g. policy, practice and statistics), Idea and tools and Insights from research and literature. Aimed primarily at both new and experienced supervisors and their needs, the site also offers much for other interested audiences (e.g. Directors of Graduate Studies, DPhil Students, College Advisors, Mentors, etc).
